ROGER HINCHLIFFE
Swedish songs with their particular emphasis and tone have long
been popular in Sweden and among those who brought them along
to that country. But it is only a few who have specialized in
translating the lyrics into English. Roger Hinchliffe, is one
of those few. Roger was born in Vermont in 1944, hails from Lexington,
Massachusetts and has lived in Stockholm since 1973.
He sang and recorded in the US with groups at Bowdoin College
and Cornell University before moving to Sweden via the Peace
Corps and Colombia.
Today he divides his time between singing, producing music and
translating Swedish films into English. |

JOE BOURNE
was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts
and has lived since 1975 in the Netherlands, where he has created
a unique position as a performing arist, not only in Holland,
but in many other parts of the world.
Joe's first exposure to the Swedish community was during his
perfomances at the opening of the Scandic Crown Hotel, Utrecht,
Holland and later at various product presentation Galas for Gislaved
Tires, Volvo and Swedesign.
In addition Joe has performed on the Swedish ferry ship,The Birka
Princess, sailing from Stockholm throughout the Baltic.
Joe became aquainted with Roger Hinchliffe and the "Swedens
Most Beloved Songs" project, while on tour in Sweden in
1989, at which time a collaboration was agreed upon for this
special compilation.
